Alaska Airlines is a prominent air carrier operating primarily in the Pacific Northwest.
I sent an email asking a question via their web site. For brevity, we'll say the message I sent was "Hello, world." The response I received was:
Thank you for contacting Finance at alaskaair.com. We received the following message on 1/25/2002 at 3:37:04 PM (Pacific time): Name: michael sorens Message: Hello, world. alaskaair.com. http://www.alaskaair.com/home.asp
Yes, they received my email; so? How about responding to it!?? By adding one little comment such as: "This is to acknowledge that we have received your mail; someone will respond to you shortly," their note would have been so much more communicative.
